Padma Vibhushan–Dilip Kumar Dilip Kumar deserved it.
ARAB NEWS-18 December 2015-L.E

The government of India has done a commendable job by conferring Padma Vibhushan — the second highest civilian award— on veteran Bollywood great Dilip Kumar for his lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. It is a well-deserved honor for the 93-year-old legendary actor.

What is remarkable is Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh personally flying to Mumbai and handing over the award to the thespian at his residence. The actor could not travel to Delhi to receive the honor from President Pranab Mukherjee. Padma Vibhushan is a distinguished official recognition for Dilip Kumar’s exceptional contribution to Indian cinema. Earlier, he was conferred with Padma Bhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award.

In his career spanning six decades, Dilip saheb will be most remembered for his performance in films like “Andaz“(1949), “Aan” (1952), “Mughal-e-Azam (1960)” and “Ganga Jamuna” (1961), besides “Karma” (1986), “Shakti” (1982)” and many more films. I wish Dilip saheb a healthy and happy life.
